Dan Shechtman, recipient of the 2011 Nobel Prize in Chemistry
Mexican Materials Society congratulates Prof. Dan Shechtman, for winning the 2011 Nobel Prize in Chemistry.
Prof. Shechtman delighted us last August at the
XX International Materials Research Congress with his plenary talk
"Quasi-Periodic Materials: Crystal Redefined", where he described the process of changing the paradigm of the structure of crystals, and the debate between believers and non-believers in his discovery of the Icosahedral phase. Our Society is proud to have in Prof. Shechtman as one of its most distinguished lecturers, and highly regards him in this happy occasion.
