Dear Colleagues:
We would like to invite you to participate in the XVIII International Materials Research Congress and in particular we encourage you to submit contributions to Symposium No. 14, "Strategies for Academy-Industry Relationships". The objective of this Symposium is to provide a forum to discuss and evolve a strategy to optimize materials research interactions between Academia and Industry in Mexico. To aid in having a meaningful forum we solicit contributions from University, Industrial and Research Centers actively working in this area.
Contributions in the following general areas are encouraged:
• Applied research to solve specific problems to industry.
• Patents resulting from such interactions: patent portfolio management, IP ownership.
• Technological services for industries
• Technology transfer
• Joint research projects
• Academy-Industry mechanisms for collaborative work
• Academy-Industry agreements
• Others.
At the end of each symposium session we will hold a round table discussion focused on the session topic, to define a strategy to increment interactions between academia and industry. The outcome of these round table discussions and the most significant contributions to the symposium will be selected to generate a summary document that will be published by MRS-Mexico. This publication will be made available to leading institutions in Mexico responsible for science and technology policy, higher education, national research center directors with a view to leverage technology development in Mexico through effective Academic-Industry Interactions.
