Symposium 5: Advanced Structural Materials

Its purpose is to present overviews and recent advances related to advanced structural materials. Metals and alloys, ceramics and composites, which are mechanically solicited in service, are considered within the scope of the symposium. A combination of invited and contributed presentations will be included dealing with innovative processing, phase transformations, mechanical behavior and mechanical properties, microstructure - mechanical behavior relationships, and overall mechanical performance of advanced materials. Both oral and poster presentations will be scheduled during the symposium.
