2nd Session 14:00 hrs

Abstract:

Many valuable results of quality research remain unpublished because non-native speakers of English language face significant problems when writing and submitting their research papers to international journals. This workshop walks the participants through the entire process of publication from choosing your coauthors, designing your research, writing the first draft, choosing your title, rewriting your abstract, structuring your contribution, revising your style, formatting your text, submitting your manuscript, facing the review process and communicating with editors. Writing tools and helpful websites are presented, reference books are introduced, and many hints are given to overcome the most common errors and problems that cause rejection of submitted articles. Some exercises show how students and researchers can improve continuously their writing skills. Strategies are presented to evaluate yourself, to manage your time, to increase your productivity, and to make your research more visible. The workshop concludes with considerations about open access journals and data sharing.
